An agent is composed of two parts: the query and the sources. For more information on agents, please click here.
Tracking a keyword in Smart Tracker
By inserting a keyword in Smart Tracker you will be using Digimind as a meta search engine which will interrogate clusters of search engines at the same time and bring you back the new information they gather on you particular subject. To find out how to do this please click here.
When setting a keyword source you’re actually specifying to Digimind where to look for information. The keyword you use in Smart Tracker will literally be used as a key to open the stream of information from the various search engines.
Your agent’s query
To really filter down the information that you receive, you can apply a query to an agent. This query will be applied to all the sources of your agents and will be used to specify what to look for inside the different sources of information that you add to your agent.
So, the difference is …
A keyword in Smart Tracker is used to create streams of information. The query in the agent is used to filter the information you receive.
A query in an agent will be applied to all the sources in that agent. The keyword in Smart Tracker will be present in that particular flow of information.
You can have more than one keyword source in an agent. All of these sources will be filtered by the same query.
