Digimind Dashboards
Digimind Intelligence dashboards help you display what you need to know in order to keep up to date with your key subjects. You can configure them to meet your needs, displaying alerts, news from the DCF and Digimind Intelligence analysis. This post explains how to add analysis to a dashboard. To find out how to display text you can read this post.
Three Sources for Analysis
At any time you can set up an analysis that will draw on one of the following:
- news from the Digimind Content Factory
- alerts from your monitorings
- information already stored in your projects
Choosing what to analysis will depend on your needs. For example, if you would like to present key trends in the information you share with your readers, you will probably select to run the analysis on stored or validated information. On the other hand, if y ou want to analyse the contents of the sources you are monitoring to identify hot topics before you start validating or storing information, then you would be better analysing alerts.
Different Types of Analysis
There are a number of analysis available. Some of these can be run without a list, some require one list, and some require two lists. To find out more about lists please follow this link.

Run an Analysis
Analysis are incredibly easy to set up.
Click to edit a tab on a dashboard, and then in the tab options, click on Add Analysis Portlet in the black bar on the left:
Then select the analysis that is best adapted to your needs:
This will open the options for the graph, which will look similar to this (depending on the type of analysis you have selected):
Depending on the type of analysis you have chosen to run, you will see different options. Check this table to find out the options for each graph, and then see the notes below.
Entities / lists
If you have created a list of entities that you would like to base your analysis on, the list will appear in the drop down menu. This option is not available for the analysis that do not need a list (geo map and time lines).
Alternatively, you can base your analysis on the Digimind Find Out feature by checking one of the lists with (find Out). Find Out uses Digimind algorithms to identify the most often cited entities in a given set of information. In this way you can find out which people, concepts, companies, etc. are most associated with a particular theme. This will in turn help you to shape and refine your CI project.
Set the number of entities to include in the analysis by using the up and down arrows. The default setting is always 7.
Geographical Zones
When creating a map there are two choices. For Sentiment analysis only the display option is available.
- The area you would like to display in the analysis. Depending on the set up your company has chosen for the Digimind platform you will see some or all of the items in the list here.
- To show the country cited in the text or to show the country from which the article was first posted. This option is only available if you are running a geo map on the DCF.
Choice of Database of Media
The information that is analyzed can be taken from one of three databases:
- DCF – Digimind Content Factory
- Validated information – in your projects and folders
- Alerts – from your agents
Proportionality
It is possible to display information in line graphs not only as the total number of results found, but also to display results as a proportion of total results over the time period. In this way you can compare the relative impact of events on the amount of articles over the time period.
Query
It is possible to filter the information used for the analysis by a query. You will be able to limit your analysis to certain types of information, based on keywords in the text. In addition for the DCF you will be able to decide which type of source (industry focus, blogs, press, etc.). For alerts you will be able to limit your analysis to certain monitoring agents and for validated information to certain folders or projects.
Display amount of results
Checking this box will display in figures the number of results directly on the analysis. This is useful if you are planning on saving the analysis in order to share it in a newsletter or a report because once saved or inserted into a document outside of the Digimind platform you will not benefit from the interactive features of the graph.
Frequency / Periodicity
It is possible to define how far apart you would like the points on a graph to be: either daily or weekly. A daily analysis will show more fluctuations than a weekly analysis. This option is only available for time lines or multi time lines.
Time Range
Set the length of time you would like to run the analysis for.
