Big Search refers to the search feature in DI.12 that allows you to locate items very quickly wherever they are on your DI.12 base.
You can use it to find:
- news (from the Digimind Content Factory - DCF)
- alerts (from agents)
- validated information (stored in projects)
- profiles (if you have this option activated on your base)
Click on the search icon in the top right corner of your DI.12 platform:
The icon is only visible from the front office. If you are working on the settings page you will need to go back to the front office.
Clicking on the search icon will open the search bar:
From here you can either enter keywords to run a big search across the whole of your DI.12 platform, or you can select the type of information that is most interesting to you.
If you select to search in validated information, alerts or news you will reveal the advanced search options button to the right of search bar:
Search in News (DCF)
Using the advanced options you will be able to refine the query and the types of information you are interested in. This will help you to quickly get to the news stories you need.
You can write your query in the search box at the top:
Or, use the query wizard below to place the words in a certain part of the page.
The next section lets you restrict the type of sources you are interested in, by language, country of origin or domain:
Below this you can set dates to limit the time period in which you search:
The last section allows you to limit either by type of media, industry sector or type of story:
Search in Alerts
A search in alerts will bring back any alerts containing your keywords.
The first half of the page is the same as the advanced options for news (see notes above):
Below this you can limit your search to specific agents
Search in Validated Information
Although it is possible to run a search in your projects for validated information using the Big Search options, it is recommended you use the My Reader interface. My Reader allows for an instant visualisation of your stored information, and in addition you can search using any tags you might have applied. To find out more about working with My Reader please follow this link.
Search in Profiles
Profiles are a way of storing information in a structured format, which means that you can very quickly and easily benchmark one product, competitor, etc. against another. Profile Manager is a Digimind Intelligence option, so you may find you are working on a base without this feature.
There are no advanced options for search in Profiles.
