DI.12 Newsletters
Newsletters are one of the ways you can share or publish information from Digimind Intelligence. To find out more about the other publication options you can read this post.
In order to be able to set up a newsletter you need to have either animator or administrator rights on the platform.
One strong advantage of using newsletters is that they are automatically sent out on a regular basis to the list of recipients you specify.
Newsletters can be structured using either folders or tags in a project. Folders and tags can be used to select the information you would like to include in the report. To find out more about working with tags and folders in a project please follow this link.
There are several standard Digimind newsletter templates available for you to use. However, we strongly suggest that you personalize your templates so that they match your corporate graphic guidelines and include your logo.
Set Up a Newsletter
Click on Publish:
This will open the newsletter page, and you will be able to see any existing newsletters you have created:
To set up a newsletters, click on create a newsletter at the top of the page. To modify an existing newsletters, click on the name of the newsletter.
Inside the newsletter generator, you will be able to name the newletter, set recipients and plan the time and sending frequency.
Set Up a Newsletter: Helpful Hints
The newsletter name will appear as the subject line of the mails.
The owner / creator of the newsletter will not automatically recieve a copy of the mail. If you would like to recieve a copy of the newsletter, add yourself as a recipient.

You can send the mail in HTML or text format:
You can select to use single or multiple sections in your newsletter. Single section newsletters will present the information in one block. With a multi section newsletter you can create distinct blocks of information and give a structure to your newsletter.
If you are using a Digimind template to send your newsletters you will be able to set the language for the mail, and modify the header and footer:
Further down, you can select the elements of the information you would like to include in the newsletter. The default settings are shown below. You modify these by clicking to select or deselect.
Detail | include all of the main text of the information. | |
Extract | publish only the extract of the information (either an automatic extract or the first 700 words depending on how your base has been configured)* | |
Images | if you have saved images seperately from the main text you will be able to publish them, they will display before the detail / extract in the report* | |

List of attachements | a list of any documents that have been stored with the information (.pdf, .ppt, .doc, etc.) | |
Display "Like' links | recipients with DI.12 logins will be able to like information | |
Display "Comment' links | recipients with DI.12 will be able to click and leave a comment on the information, this comment will be visible to other users of the Digimind platform |
Single Section Newletters
If you decide to set up a single section newsletter, on the next page you will see the My Reader interface, which will help you decide which information to include in the newsletter:
You can select information by keyword, projects and folders, by author (the person who validated the information into Digimind), advanced filters and your tags. To find out more about working with these filters in My Reader, please read this post.
You need to make at least one choice on this page for Digimind to set up a newsletter.
Click on Save at the bottom of the page to finish.
Back on the newsletter page, you will see your newsletter has been created. Use the actions button to edit, preview or delete the newsletter:
Mutli Section Newsletters
If you decide to set up a multi section newsletter, on the next page you will see:
Click on add section to start. This will take you to the My Reader interface where you can select the information you would like to publish using keywords, projects, folders, filters and tags:
Make your choices, and then click on the blue tick to implement these choices, followed by apply configuration at the bottom of the page.
You will see the section, and you can then rename it, by clicking on the pencil:
You can drag and drop the sections to put them in the right order:
Click on save at the bottom of the page. You wil see your newsletter on the newsletter page, and you can use the actions button to preview it.
