Google Plus is growing in users daily. It was first launched in June 2011 and by December 2012 it had over 500 million registered users of whom 235 million are active in a given month.
Given the number of users and their level of activity, tracking what's being said on this social media is of great importance.
Monitor a Person's Posts
You can track what an individual person is saying on Google Plus. This will enable you to follow KOLs, company employees, and decision makers.
Once you have identified the person you would like to monitor:
and then click on the button "posts":
This will give you a URL at the top of the page, which you can paste into the Digimind agent Smart Tracker:
You will now receive an alert any time this person posts something on to their Google Plus page.
In order to see the posts you need to click "view online".
From here you can read the post and using the Digimind Bookmarklet you can save the information into a Digimind project.
Monitor a Commmunity Page
Google Plus Communities contain postings from various people sharing similar interests or following the same topics.
Once you have identified a community page you are interested in tracking, for example:
At the top of the page is the URL for this community page. Paste this into a Digimind agent using Smart Tracker:
And then on your dashboard you will see alerts for the posts from the people who make up this community.
To read the posts, click on "view online":
Using the Digimind Bookmarklet you will be able to store any of the information you find on the posts, including the articles that lie behind links on these pages.
