Profile Types
There are three standard profile types in Digimind: Person, Company and Product.
It is possible to create new profile types or to edit the standard ones, to better meet your needs. To do this, you need to have administrative rights for your Digimind platform.
How do I do this?
First, check you have administrative rights. An easy way to do this is inside the "Manage Profiles" page, click on the "More actions" button. If have administrative rights, you will see "Manage profile types" in the drop down menu. Click on this.
This will take you to a page where you can choose to create or edit profile types. Click on "create a new type" or click on the name of an existing type to start editing or creating.
You will now see a page on which there are three important elements:
- add a block button
- add a field button
- a blue editing box on the left
Add a block button
Add blocks to your template by clicking on this button. You will be able to choose between four types of block: properties, listing, services or dashboard.
The Details Block / Properties Block
When you create a profile type, the details block is automatically created for you. It is possible to add the same type of block by clicking on “Add block” and then selecting “Properties”.
This type of block is useful for displaying information about a profile that you will enter manually, such as the name, the address, etc.
Services Block
This type of block contains information that will be automatically updated with information from the DCF,or validated information in Digimind projects.
Depending on the type of service you choose to use, you will be asked for further information:
DCF: no further information is required. Digimind will automatically search for articles in the Digimind Content Factory based on the name of the profile.
Folders information: You need to specify a query and then choose the folders in which to look for information. Then the profile will be automatically updated with the latest validated information.
Listing Block
Listing blocks allow you to link one profile in the database to another. You are first required to specify which profile type you want to include, choosing from your existing list of profile types.
Dashboard Block
The Dashboard block lets you add Digimind graphs and analysis to a profile. These visuals will be updated in real-time.
Add a field
This button is available for properties block or for the details block.
When you click on “Add a field”, a blue window will open to the left of the screen.
To add a field to your profile template, drag and drop the type of field from the blue box to the space on the right.
