Newsletter Templates
When setting up a newsletter you can choose to use the standard Digimind templates (follow the link to find out more) or you can modify the standard template (this link will explain how to do that).
Digimind can also create fully personalized newsletter templates specifically for your company and corporate style.
Here are some examples of recently customized newsletters we have created for our clients.
Options for Newsletters
As well as working on the look and feel of your newsletters, we are also able to incorporate some other options into your customized newsletters.
The standard options for newsletters allow you to create and share information that is well adapted to your readers' needs. In addition, there are some interesting options available for newsletters.
- single section or multiple sections in a newsletter
- sort information by folder
- display like and comment buttons in newsletters
- sort information by publication date or modification date
- newsletter statistics
- express newsletters
- deactivate the link from the newsletter to the information stored in Digimind
- activate the link from attached documents to the document stored in Digimind
You will find these options summarized in the table below and more details in the notes that follow.
Notes:
- Free: This option can be activated at your request without charge. You will then be able to use this on Digimind newsletter templates or those you have created inside the platform. For templates we have personalized at your request, you may need to modify your personalized model to benefit from the option. This may incur a charge. Please contact us for more details on your specific case.
- By default: Only the options for single / multiple sections and to display the like and comment buttons are available by default on all Digimind bases. Please contact us if you are interested in any other options not yet available on your base.
- Modification needed for personalized templates: It is possible to ask us to create a personalized newsletter template for your company. Some of the options need to be included in the personalized template although they may be already present on your Digimind for non-personalized newsletter templates.
Single Section or Multiple Sections
You can create single section or multiple section newsletters, depending on your needs.
The advantage of working with multiple section newsletters is that you can define the contents of each section, name each section and order them as you would like.
To find out more about working with multiple section newsletters, please read this post.
This option is available by default but personlized newsletter templates do not automatically include this option.
Sort by Folder
The folder structure of a project can be used as a skeleton for the structure of a newsletter. The contents of the newsletter will then be divided into sections based on the names of the folders inside the project (or projects) you use to feed the newsletter.
This gives a clear coherent structure to the newsletter, based on the same logic you have used to build the project.

This option is not available by default. Personlized newsletter templates do not automatically include this option.
Display like and comment buttons
As people who find and collect information for others it can be very useful and insightful to have an indication of how well appreciated our work is. The like and comment buttons inside a newsletter provide an easy way for the recipients to either indicate that they like the information or to leave a comment on what they have read.
This option is available by default. However, personlized newsletter templates do not automatically include this option.
Different sorting options for information
The default setting is to sort information by date of modification, or in other words when the information was last edited inside a Digimind project. It is also possible to display the information in the newsletter by date of original publication on the internet. This will be very useful for trackers who validate information just before they send out a weekly or a monthly newsletter.
Once this option has been activated you can use it for all the templates on your platform, including any personalized templates.
Newsletter Statistics
Newsletter statistics allow you to gain insights into which newsletters are most popular and which recipients are reading what you send. The newsletter statistic option allows for the download of monthly excel reports which present clear analysis on the key indicators of who, what and when for newsletters.
To find out more about newsletter statistics, please read this post.
This option is not available by default. Personlized newsletter templates need to be updated to include this option.
Express Newsletters
The express newsletter option allows you to send out one-off newsletters on an ad hoc basis. Express Newsletters combine the distributrion speed and ease of newsletters and the precision of reports. You can select the information to include using folders, tags and selecting from a list.
Once this option has been activated you can use it for all the templates on your platform, including any personalized templates.

Link from Newsletter to Stored Information
It is possible to desactivate the link between the newsletter and the information as it has been stored in a Digimind project. This will be useful if you would like to point your readers directly to the URL on which the information was originally found.
For this option to work on personalized templates we will need to modify the template. We need to activate this option for you.
Link from list of attachments to attached document in Digimind
When storing information in a Digimind project you may at times also want to store a document as an attachment. This is often the case for companies' financial reports, which are published in pdf. format.
By default newsletters can display the list of attachments so that the recipients can see that there are associated documents.
We can activate the link between this list of attachments and the documents stored inside a Digimind folder. This will allow recipients who have access to Digimind as a reader, business user or power user to click to open the attached documents.
Personlized newsletter templates need to be updated to include this option.
HTML file as attachment
This option allows you to attach and send an HTML file of the newsletter at the same time as you send the newsletter itself. This will be useful if you are working with several different mail systems at the same time as all users will be able to open and read the HTML file (Outlook, gmail, Lotus notes, etc.).
Newsletter statistics (see above) will work from inside the HTML file. That's to say when someone clicks to open the HTML file, this will be counted in the statistics for that newsletter.
Personalize Sender's Mail
The sender's mail address that is used by default is: DIGIMIND <newsletter-noreply@digimind.com>
We can personlize this for you by creating or modifying a customized newsletter template.
Contact Mail in Newsletter Footer
By creating a personlised newsletter template, you can include a specific contact mail address in the footer of the newsletter. This will enable recipients of the newsletter to get in contact with you directly. Without this customization the footer will not contain a contact email address at all.
