Area Tracker
Area tracker is a Digimind feature that allows you select exactly which part of a webpage you would like to monitor for changes. In this way you can choose to track only the changes to, for example, a list of suppliers, a set of sponsors for an event, etc., while ignoring the other parts of the webpage. To find out more about how to work with this feature, please follow this link.
Trouble Shooting
We have recently become aware of some difficulties some of our clients have faced while setting up this kind of source.
The set up page in which you can select the area to track works fine:
However, after clicking on validate the source is added as a webpage source, without area tracker:
This means that the source will be tracked, but the whole page will be taken into consideration, not just the area you have selected in pink.
Most of these users have been using Chrome, although Firefox, IE and other browsers have also been affected.
The problem is connected to the security settings for the internet browser, so the first step in finding a solution is to try with another browser. Many times this is enough to solve the problem and the source can be easily added.
If you have attempted this or are unable to switch to another browser, please contact us via the Help & Training Center, as we will be able to add the source for you. You will need to indicate
- the agent to which it should be added
- the URL you would like to track
- the part of the page you would like to include
