/ is a special case
The symbol / is not recognized by search engines and so this has an impact on the way it can be included in a query.
/ is often used in to refer to legislation, for example the core legislation regulating the approval of pesticides on the EU market is Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2009. So in order to track any changes to or implications of this legislation the string "1107/2009" needs to go into a query.
How to include / in a Digimind query
In this first example 1007/2009 has been added to an agent as a query. The query was then tested and the result is that the query has correct syntax.
However, this query will not actually bring back any results. This is due to the /, which cannot be understood by search engines.
Using " " creates a syntax error
When " " are added around 1007/2009 you will see the following error message showing that there is a syntax error:
So obviously this query will not bring back any results either.
A simple solution
To get around this, use a space to replace the /, for example:
You can then combine this with other keywords to create a query that matches your needs and the sources you have chosen to track.
